Introduction


Everyone who likes pizza or is a »pizza-fan« in any way knows, that the secret of making this kind of food hides in the quality of dough. 35-year-old Tomaž Hrovat doesn’t lack of this kind of experience. As a child he was learning to knead dough in his father’s bakery but his vein of business drove him on his own. A decade ago he decided to renovate the farm at Gora pri Komendi into a restaurant. After five years of hard work the Hram Gorjan has opened. At the time Tomaž Hrovat didn’t plan for his premises to specialize in serving delicious pizzas. A piece of his youthfulness and love for sports helped him to get started on his business path as well and now, if you are in a gambling spirit, you can find your resort there. Hram Gorjan also became famous with his electronic-darts team. In 1994 the team won the European Championship at Bled, and a year after they were second best. So you can admire all of these trophies in his glass cases.

For quite some time now, the real attributes of neatly decorated and renovated restaurant at Gora pri Komendi hides somewhere else. »Nowadays you won’t be able to find any gambling machines and electric stoves for making pizzas here. Years ago we made a decision about renovating the place, since the best pizzas are made in baker’s oven«, says Tomaž Hrovat. So we can appease our hunger with their outstanding pizzas at his restaurant? »No, I don’t claim that. We make second best pizzas in Slovenia! I have to have some tolerance towards other caterers, » is being self-critical Tomaž who is thinking for a long time now also about those who are not obsessed with round, rich, bread-made specialties.
